Recent high school graduates enrolled in the Trio Upward Bound Program can participate in the Bridge Program, where they will learn skills needed to succeed in college, take seven college credits and participate in an internship. Students will receive mentoring to help with the transition to college, and will get the chance to live on campus. Summer Academic Program. June 1- July 9. High school freshmen, sophomores and juniors will have the opportunity to experience college life during the Summer Academic Program. This program allows 4. English, a foreign language, math and science courses to improve their study habits. Students will also receive supplemental instruction for the following school year. The New Mexico State University Future Farmers of America Chapter will host the 8. The nearly 7. 0 FFA chapters from all over the state will attend to compete in agri- science fair, chapter prepared public speaking, extemporaneous public speaking, greenhand prepared public speaking, greenhand creed and job interview, as well as the nomination of new state officers. Students will focus on three areas during this camp including movement, singing and instruments. They will be taught the fundamentals of music through a performance that they will have. Incoming fifth through ninth graders are welcome to join this summer program as they focus on the beginnings of playing a string instrument and will work with a specialist all week to prepare for their concert at the end of the week. New Mexico State 4- H Conference is an event where youth from all over the state have a chance to compete in contests and participate in leadership building workshops. When competing in the contests, youth have the opportunity to win state titles and qualify to compete nationally.
